Background Checks for Volunteers
by Art Steburg Saturday, April 12th, 2008All local Little Leagues are required to conduct background checks on managers, coaches, board of directors members and any other persons, volunteers or hired workers, who provide regular service to the league and/or have repetitive access to, or contact with, players or teams. Individuals are also required to complete and submit a Little League Volunteer Application to their local league.
Click on the “ChoicePoint Background Checks” in “Links of Interest” in the right side of this page to begin your background checks.

by Art Steburg Saturday, April 12th, 2008District 38 has made Safety First for the sixth year in a row 100% of our Leagues have made a Safety Plan and they have all been approved by Willamsport. A big Thank-you to all of you that worked so hard, your efforts have earned a 20% discount on your leagues insurance and a $350 discount on the district insurance as well. Now lets not let down, make sure the plans are implemented. Remember Little League means safety, fun, and sportsmanship.
1st Step on the road to Williamsport
by Art Steburg Friday, April 11th, 2008Welcome to California District 38, where everyone makes a team and everyone plays. We offer Baseball, Softball and Challenger Programs for children ages 4 1/2 to 19. No one cares more about your child than we do. If your childs dream is to play in the Little League World Series then they must play Little League Baseball. There are other programs but most end at the completion of the regular season. District 38 competed in 32 post season tournaments last year, with most of our players competing in at least one of them. The road to Williamsport is a long one that starts at the District level and advances to Section, Division, Region and then to Williamsport. Good Luck and have a safe, fun and rewarding season.
ATTENTION: Only the District 38 Little League EMT card will be accepted for 2008
by Art Steburg Tuesday, April 1st, 2008Every manager and coach is required to have a current safety card. The only card that will be accepted is the card issued by California District 38. Doctors, registered nurses and paramedics are excepted from this requirement. We can no longer accept cards issued by the Red Cross or other organizations. District 38 cards are valid for the year they are issued plus two more seasons.
If your card has expired plan to attend one of the upcoming Safety Classes, they are posted in the sidebar to the right under upcoming events, or you can click here to visit our upcoming events calendar page, or you can subscribe to our upcoming events rss feed.
